Privacy Policy
Version 2026102921, effective 29 October 2026 · User Agreement
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Lovetopia collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Lovetopia website and apps. Lovetopia is for adults only.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by Epsilon Connect, LLC, doing business as Lovetopia (“we,” “us”). We are responsible for (the “controller” of) your personal data. You can reach us through https://lovetopia.app/contact.
2. Data we collect
Account data: your email address and a one-way, irreversible hash of your password (we never store the password itself). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your account identifier with that provider and your verified email address.
Profile data: your name or nickname, gender, who you are looking for, year of birth (from the date of birth you enter), country and city, and anything else you choose to add, such as a bio, interests, profession, education, languages, height, weight and looks.
Sensitive details, only if you choose to add them and give separate consent: religion, political view, heritage (the countries you or your family come from), relationship type, and smoking, drinking, cannabis or other drug use. None of these are required.
Photos, videos and messages: your live camera profile photo, the photos and videos you upload (public or private), your messages, and the photos and videos you send in chats.
Approximate location, only if you add it: from your device, a place you type (city, region or postal code) or a spot you pick on a map. It is rounded to an area of several kilometres before it is saved; your exact location is never stored.
Activity and safety data: when you were last active, likes, matches, blocks, reports you make or receive, album access you grant, gifts and token transactions, and the record of each time you accepted the User Agreement (version, time, language and the confirmations you gave).
Connection data: your IP address is used when you connect, but we store only a one-way fingerprint of it, which we use to prevent fraud and abuse, enforce bans and check rewards.
Payment data: card payments are handled by Stripe and App Store purchases by Apple. We receive the purchase details (what you bought, amount, status and the payment provider's reference numbers), not your full card number.
Messages to support: what you write in the Contact form.
3. How we use your data and our legal bases
To provide the Service you signed up for (performance of our contract with you): your account, profile, search and matching, messages, calls, private albums, tokens, purchases and Premium.
To keep members safe and the Service lawful (our legitimate interests and legal obligations): checking that profile photos show a real adult face, blocking contact details in messages, reviewing reports, preventing fraud, spam and abuse, enforcing bans, and responding to lawful requests.
With your consent: your sensitive details, your approximate location, and showing these to other members. You can withdraw consent at any time in your profile; this does not affect processing before you withdrew it.
Heritage, if you add it: its main purpose is to help members find their community, for example people who share their roots, culture or language, especially those who live outside the country they or their family come from. It is meant to include people and bring them together, not to exclude anyone. It is never shown on your profile or to other members: it is used only so that members can find you in search, and never for advertising.
To run the business (legitimate interests and legal obligations): accounting, tax, handling refunds and disputes, and keeping records of the agreements you accepted.
To contact you about your account, such as password-reset emails and notices about changes to our terms. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Automated checks
When you take your live profile photo, it is checked automatically (by an artificial-intelligence service acting for us) to confirm that it shows one real, uncovered adult face. Our team also reviews profile photos. A face guide runs only inside your browser while the camera is open; it is not sent to us. We do not create or keep face templates or use your photo to identify you. If an automated check rejects your photo you can try again, and a person reviews photos that are unclear.
Messages are checked automatically for contact details and links that our rules don't allow. When you use AI help or translation, the text involved is sent to the same AI service to produce the answer.
If you add your own key for an AI service on My profile, the messages you choose to translate are sent to that service under your account with it, and its terms and privacy policy apply. We store your key encrypted and use it only for this.
5. What other members see
Other members can see your profile, your public photos, your approximate distance (in steps, and never closer than a set minimum) if you both added a location, and when you were last active. Private photos and videos are visible only to members you approve. Messages and the media you send are visible to the people you send them to, who may keep copies. During a video call, your device connects directly to the other person's device, so their device can see your IP address.
6. Who we share data with
Service providers who process data for us under contract and only for our purposes: our hosting and email provider (servers in the United States), Stripe (card payments), Apple (App Store purchases), the AI service we use for photo checks, AI help and translation (currently Anthropic), Google and Apple (if you choose to sign in with them), the OpenStreetMap Foundation (looking up a place you type; the map you can pick a location on is also loaded from OpenStreetMap, which sees your IP address), Google's connection service that helps video calls connect, and FormSubmit (delivers Contact form messages to us).
If you turn on notifications, we send them through your browser's or phone's push service (Apple, Google or your browser's maker). They say who wrote, liked or called you, never what a message says.
Authorities and others where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
A buyer or successor if the business is reorganised or sold, subject to this Policy.
7. International transfers
We and our providers process data in the United States and possibly other countries, which may have different data-protection laws from yours. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
8. How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, your profile is emptied and hidden, and your photos, videos, messages, likes, album access and blocks are deleted. We keep what we need for legal, accounting, safety and dispute purposes: purchase and token records, ban records (as one-way fingerprints), reports and the record of the agreements you accepted. Backups are overwritten in their normal cycle. Copies other members already received are outside our control.
9. Your rights and choices
You can see and change most of your data in your profile, remove sensitive details and your location at any time, choose who sees your private albums, and delete your account in your profile settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to some processing, receive your data in a portable format, withdraw consent, and not be treated differently for using these rights. To use them, write to us through https://lovetopia.app/contact; we may need to confirm it's you. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
10. Security
We use measures we consider appropriate, such as encrypted connections (https), hashed passwords and access controls. No internet service is completely secure, so please choose a strong password and be careful what you share.
11. Adults only
The Service is not for anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor has an account, we close it and delete their data except where we must keep it to protect them or by law. Please report any profile you think belongs to a minor.
12. Cookies and storage on your device
We use only the cookies the Service needs: one keeps you signed in, one remembers an invite link for 30 days so the person who invited you gets credit, and short-lived ones protect sign-in with Google or Apple. Your browser also remembers a few settings, such as automatic translation in chats. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. The version and effective date are shown at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you on the Service before it applies. Earlier versions are kept on record.
14. Contact
Questions or requests about your data: https://lovetopia.app/contact.
